Laurel loves living in Abu Dhabi,
UAE. The desert environment and lanscape is a constant inspiration to an artist, presenting its own unique painting challenges.
Feeling part of the community enables Laurel to get involved with local charities.
She was recently invited to paint the K9 Puppy Ball Auction
painting. Shown here are the happy winners of her painting.
When you adopt dogs, life can revolve around dog walks, but that certainly keeps
you fit in the desert climate!

Laurel's newest and last addition was found in a sad
state in the desert. She is the most endearing dog. Now in great health she has discovered she can run like the wind.
Lovely Bonnie and Suki were rescued and
rehomed to us through 'Strays Of Abu Dhabi' animal rescue.

ABOUT THE ARTIST Laurel Moore is a commission artist who has
been living in Abu Dhabi, UAE for 2 years and is fast establishing herself as one of the highly talented
Contemporary and Traditional artists in the Middle East. She specializes in Traditional and Contemporary paintings
using oil on canvas. She is a traditional oil painter and does not use digital art in any way.
Laurel Moore is a Certified Listed British Artist. She obtained her Teaching
Degree at the University of Portsmouth, England, with a specialism in 'The Arts' and 'Art History'. Laurel Moore is married and lives with her husband in
Abu Dhabi, UAE. Laurel Moore comes from a family of artists. Her uncle John Cooke
was one of the original artist model makers on the British series "Thunderbirds" in the 1960's, which still
has a cult-following today. He then continued his illustrious career as an artist for the British Natural History Museum,
in London. Her other uncle works as a composer in Vancouver, Canada, and her cousin is a successful ceramics artist.

As a child,
Laurel sang with a choir at the Royal Albert Hall in London and learnt to play the piano, accordion, and later alto and tenor
saxophone. She was as at home singing and playing in hotels as she was busking on the streets of England with her blues band. Whilst studying for her teaching degree in the 1980's her art lecture commented that " he didn't know
what to do with someone with so much talent". Whilst busking (singing blues and playing tenor saxophone) she was
talent-scouted by the manager of the Holiday Inn hotel chain to play a regular gig with her blues band.
 ''Settling
down and having a family allowed me to concentrate on my art. I studied my art for 7 years in Switzerland.
This move to Switzerland in 2000, with its stunning mountains and valleys, was a great inspiration to my artistic
soul. It allowed me to explore and paint new and exciting landscapes/cityscapes. Now living in Abu Dhabi I am blessed
with 365 good painting days a year! And I have a whole new painting and landscape adventure to explore!'' ..................
