On a family outing to Cornwall one Christmas the weather was amazing. The sky was azulean blue. The air was crisp and fresh without a breeze. It felt as though Cornwall was presenting itself to my very own paint brush. Itching me to paint its quaint quay and fishermen's cottages. What a treat. I love a painting that has water in it. It's that wonderful contradiction of structure alongside movement and depth which is entracing to me. The colours of winter leaves too brought a lovely colour combination. I really loved painting this one.
